FINAL FANTASY 14 SALES and FREE TRIAL TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED ENDWALKER LOGIN ISSUES PRIEST

Final Fantasy14 players have struggled to log in since the launch of the MMORPG’s Endwalker expansion. Square Enix, the publisher and developer of Final Fantasy 14, has temporarily stopped sales for starter and complete editions. Registrations for the generous trial are also being suspended because of server congestion.

Temporarily suspending sales of FFXIV’s starter, complete and extended editions does NOT apply to digital Collector’s Edition upgrades or expansion packs. Players who have not completed the previous content of the title can still buy new expansions, provided they can get in.

These temporary suspensions will be implemented with our retail partners over the next few working days. We will coordinate with them as quickly as possible, but please keep in mind that this will not be a rapid process,” Producer Naoki Yoshida posted in a post on Lodestone.

After previously granting 7 days of free gameplay as compensation for login problems, the publisher will give 14 additional days to all players who have FFXIV’s complete edition and an active subscription as of Tuesday, December 21.

Final Fantasy 14’s queues are notorious for making it difficult for players to get online. On December 21, patch 6.1 will be released to fix a bug that caused players to get disconnected while they waited in the queue.

Square Enix warned about potential congestion long before Endwalker’s launch. As the MMORPG’s popularity soared, Square Enix also reiterated on multiple occasions that there is a global shortage of semiconductors, making it difficult to add new servers.

Progress is being made. Current plans include releasing “some kind of roadmap” outlining the strategy to create more space for players.

“We are looking into adding servers to each region. We have plans to do a large-scale addition in North America or Europe. We will evaluate the server count, infrastructure construction time, power issues and server rack conditions to determine if this should be done in a series or one big push.

Those who make it can receive a few new rewards from FFXIV’s Starlight Celebration 2021, which runs until the end of the month.
