According to a study, no new generation consoles were the most popular this year.
You’ve seen the various “Wrapped” stats on different websites. They are a great addition to modern internet life. What better way to make data collection fun and shareable? By the way, I applaud anyone brave enough to share their music tastes with the world.
HowLongToBeat has shared many 2021 gaming statistics, compiled using data submitted by users. The site currently has 344.9K users. This is a large data pool, but it doesn’t necessarily reflect every gamer on the planet. It’s still fun, so let’s have a chat about it.
We had Resident Evil Village at number one on our list of top 10 most played games of the year. Metroid Dread was second and Ratchet & Clank, Rift Apart third. It seems that Lady Dumitrescu was a favorite of many people. This may just be me, but it’s hard to believe that the game was released in May! Friends, it’s been a long one.
We have NieR replicant ver. 1.22474487139… is the number one spot. This is not surprising, considering its full name. It was a little confusing to me that some Kingdom Hearts titles had names. It’s a great game, and people are giving it a try. Second, we see Resident Evil Village. Although it might seem contradictory, it shows how many people have tried it, even though it wasn’t everybody’s favorite.
We have the top 10 most used platforms for the year. This is perhaps the most surprising. At the top, we also have Xbox Series X, which is shamefully in seventh. I wonder what you are doing there! It’s still a great console. Perhaps this is more indicative of Xbox stock issues than anything else.
