2023 is shaping up to be an exceptional year for Spider-Man enthusiasts, with two exciting releases: an eye-opening film and an anticipated game on the horizon. There’s much reason for fans of the character to rejoice this year.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will exclusively debut on PS5 consoles on 20 October, so now we only have about three months left until its arrival. Its open world will be twice the size of that seen in its predecessor game and there will be content which allows players to freely switch between Peter and Miles; making for lots of enjoyable gaming time ahead!

But some gamers remain hopeful for two classic Spider-Man titles to return: Spider-Man (2000) and Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro. Both were staples on PS1, yet have since fallen by the wayside due to developers losing interest; thus fans have taken matters into their own hands by initiating an official petition calling for both to be redone.

Tyler Wheaton recently started a petition on Change.org calling on Sony PlayStation to bring back classic Spider-Man PS1 games onto PS4 and PS5. Currently with over 500 signatures collected so far, his campaign holds much promise of taking off and expanding further in scope and reach.

“All Spidey fans and gamers want these classic titles back and want them remastered,” Wheaton stated on his petition page. “We miss playing [these classics].”

If you would like to sign the petition yourself, click here and submit. Let’s hope someone from PlayStation or Activision hears us out and acts upon it soon enough!
