Gaming veterans likely have at least a couple titles that stir nostalgia within them; Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and The Simpsons: Hit & Run are such games for me; I can’t think about either title without getting chills of memory from their releases! For me personally, such albums as Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) help bring back fond memories from certain points in time in my life.

Reddit provides the ideal forum to remember our favourite films and games from yesteryear and express our hopes and wishes for these franchises moving forward. Crysis 1 was recently mentioned by user hailthecrowbar on Reddit as part of this never ending nostalgia dive and it received tremendous appreciation – being considered “way better” than expected when released sixteen years ago and boasting graphics far ahead of their time!

Crysis was developed and released for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 back in 2007 by Crytek and EA. If you are unfamiliar with it, this first-person shooter takes place in an alternate future where alien structures have been discovered buried deep within Lingshan Islands off of Philippines coast, near where players control Jake Dunn known by callsign Nomad to fight both human and alien foes alike using nanosuit.

Fans remain impressed with this title years later. User Time-Ladder4753 wrote, “For me, one of the more striking features in [the first Crysis] wasn’t so much its graphics; rather it was how when shooting trees they broke right where I shot them” while another user, GKnight702, added “[Crysis’] beginning half when you battled humans was extremely entertaining!”

JuanOnlyJuan wrote, “Doing crazy stuff such as ramping a truck into a building and jumping out midair to land on the roof of a shack before switching to MAXIMUM STRENGTH to bring down its roof was simply… amazing. TakikiMars_ joked it could run Crysis to measure hardware quality.” So true and what an incredible marvel.
