Fans agree that Red Dead Redemption Remake should include references to Arthur Morgan.
If you have been living under a rock this week, chances are you may not have heard about rumors sweeping through gaming industry: insiders claim a remake of Red Dead Redemption is forthcoming – something most would welcome seeing happen!
Red Dead Redemption remake speculation has swirled for several years now, and more recently when an RDR rating appeared online. Since then, insiders have claimed not only is the remake real but will be revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live toward the end of August – so far no confirmation from Rockstar exists, although fans cannot help feeling excited that an RDR remake might soon arrive – with many hoping for specific additions such as multiplayer support in any possible remake release.
Reddit user jackie2567 started the debate by asking, “If Rockstar goes ahead with an RDR 1 remake, would you prefer that they add additional plot details and references related to Arthur Morgan and events in RDR 2, or stick with what already existed in its original?” Arthur is of course, the protagonist from Red Dead Redemption 2, so many would assume this question should have an affirmative answer – with most choosing yes as the answer.
AAAFate wrote, “I would prefer the game as is with one added side mission that has all of Arthur references and stuff. Leave everything else as is,” while Eddie2Ham suggested subtle details involving Arthur such as hanging his hat in John’s home or having Dutch, Javier and Bill reference what happened between John and Arthur (including Javier) that may include them saying something along those lines as Jackie2567 stated: –
DatClubbaLang96 suggested an interactive mission where John comes across Mary Linton who needs assistance, so John offers to assist for Arthur’s sake – this would allow some organic discussion regarding his legacy and John’s relationship to him without forced-fitting random spots of gameplay with it.” Breakfastburrito24 suggested connecting RDR 1’s epilogue back into RDR 1. I think subtle clues might add depth.
