Once upon a time, Starfield would’ve already been available. Bethesda’s space adventure game was supposed to launch last year but due to various delays was eventually delayed until September 6th when finally set for release.

Starfield promises so much: its Star Map could become one of the biggest in-game maps we’ve ever experienced and New Atlantis may become Bethesda’s largest city ever built. Additionally, romance options for our playable character will return and The Adoring Fan has confirmed his/her return – while Xbox Game Pass subscribers have access to pre-downloading it already confirming title size! While having to wait an additional 12 months may have been frustrating at times, developers have made huge improvements during that time – leaving fans stunned at just what all has changed between now and when Starfield was unveiled again in 2019.

Reddit user ThinWhiteDuke00 posted two screenshots from a similar in-game location during Starfield 2022’s gameplay reveal and Starfield Direct this summer, respectively. It is easy to notice significant improvements: environment is far more detailed with enhanced textures, shading effects and NPC presence adding life and realism in every scene he displays.

Scuttlemeta’s review read, in part: “The color changes have really added depth to my gaming experience whilst adding an immersive atmosphere – from beautiful planets looking amazing, to barren planets giving off danger signals,” while user Flow390 commented with: “Despite my frustration at having to wait so long – these changes were definitely worth waiting for – looks much better now!”

One user commented, stating, “Sure enough. While Starfield may have left me cold in 2022, my enthusiasm has skyrocketed since 2023! Way to go Bethesda!”
