Patch 6.45 Will Bring No Major Alterations To Manderville Relic Progression
Final Fantasy XIV expansions all include an opportunity for you to obtain Relic Weapons – powerful yet shiny weapons available only during certain points in time (though this no longer the case since Ultimates were made available). A Realm Reborn saw Zodiac Relics come into being, which required players to go on an exhaustive questline that required multiple steps of completion before becoming accessible for use by Warriors of Light.
People tend to enjoy the challenge and excitement associated with forging Relics in Endwalker, so the Manderville Relic series was introduced as an easier alternative – two phases require trading Allagan Tomestones for items needed – making the experience considerably less exciting, yet easier for many players.
Are You Hoping Future Phases Will Differ Substantialy? Unfortunately not. According to Naoki Yoshida’s interview with Dengeki Online (via Reddit translation), creative director and lead producer for Final Fantasy XIV Naoki Yoshida stated that their processes will likely stay the same in future patches of Final Fantasy XIV (Patch 6.45? or Change? ).
“My intention isn’t to tell people exactly what content will change significantly; my aim is for both players and content providers alike to benefit,” explained Yoshida.
So get comfortable, because Tomestone dumps may soon come tumbling down! At least you don’t have to engage in anything risky like I had to when doing my Trials of Braves book grind in Zodiac Weapons — my soul still isn’t completely recovered yet from that experience!
