New PlayStation hardware release date and price confirmed

Following in Microsoft’s Adaptive Controller footsteps, PlayStation 5 Access Controller finally has a price and release date, providing more players the chance to game on their platform of choice.
The PlayStation 5 Access Controller offers unparalleled customizability thanks to a joystick and circular pad which allow for convenient switching and placement of buttons whenever required. In total there are 19 button caps with 23 removable tags which offer sophisticated button remapping, providing endless configuration possibilities.
Additionally, the PlayStation 5 Access Controller features up to 30 saved profiles suited for various genres and play styles, along with four 3.5mm AUX ports for audio connection as well as the capability of pairing with up to two other Access Controllers and one DualSense wireless controller simultaneously.
“Over the past five years, Sony Interactive Entertainment and accessibility organizations and experts have collaborated in order to develop an accessible controller kit designed to make gaming more comfortable for gamers with disabilities while prolonging gameplay sessions for longer,” explained Isabelle Tomatis of Sony’s brand hardware peripherals team in their PlayStation Blog posting.

Preorders of the PlayStation 5 Access Controller will open up for pre-sale on 21 July 2023 and launch six weeks later, on 6 December. Interest may be registered via PlayStation.com while availability will include PlayStation Direct as well as select retailers.
The PlayStation 5 Access Controller will debut with an extremely reasonable retail price tag of PS79.99/$89.99 USD – hopefully, this item won’t fall prey to scalpers and instead reach those in need directly.
