Far Cry 6 may not be one of the highest acclaimed titles in its series; critics generally gave the game only moderate approval scores on Metacritic (around 70s).
No matter its wearisome formula, Far Cry 5 remains one of the more beautiful mainline entries from Ubisoft series and many fans on Reddit have raved about its stunning visuals and described it with words such as beautiful or perfect to describe its overall experience.
Reddit user blndtigr opened up this discussion by saying they recently completed Far Cry 6 after its availability on PlayStation Plus Premium service a couple weeks earlier. Although technically completed the main questline of Far Cry 6, one cannot truly say they “defeated” such an epic game like Far Cry 6.
Redditors seemed largely in agreement with blndtigr’s assessment: Far Cry 6 provides them with just enough entertainment without distracting from other tasks; “Far Cry 6 fits perfectly for my gaming needs; turn it on, headshot some enemies for awhile before leaving to finish laundry or whatever.” Story is always welcome but by time they come back I often forget where their storyline went anyway – TheShakinBacon.
“I’m really enjoying Far Cry 6. Far Cry 5 was off-putting due to all its religious plot and Montana map; however, this time around the map and story have won me over!” said Eugebra.
However, degenerate_cross may disagree. “The characters are very annoying – from liberating bases with human experimentation and piles of burned bodies to cartoon idiots rapping songs about beer while sending you away for more,” they stated. It becomes difficult to care about Dani [the protagonist) without proper care given for her storyline.
As part of our review for Far Cry 6, we noted in our commentary: “we wanted Far Cry 6 to stand apart from its predecessors with more action-packed gameplay that accommodates its increasingly violent setting. A revamp of its formula allowed for this.
“Imagine leading a revolution and starting an all-out civil war between entrenched factions: that’s exactly the sort of scenario open world games can perfectly depict as regions change according to your actions – yet Far Cry 3 fails miserably at delivering on this promise and disappoints with little of what made its predecessor great!” Unfortunately, Far Cry 3 fails not only its original premise but is an inferior rendition.
