As is well-known by now, Starfield will not be making an appearance on PlayStation 5 anytime soon – or ever for that matter.

Bethesda’s open-world RPG Starfield has long been one of the most anticipated titles, but PlayStation 5 users will have to wait their turn – as Microsoft acquired Bethesda, Starfield is exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PC only.

Yes, this may be disappointing… but that doesn’t change anything; no amount of petitions will change that fact. After all, PlayStation owners already enjoy numerous exclusives such as The Last Of Us and Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS3, God Of War for PS5, etc… All are great experiences worth playing; PS5 users looking for RPG action come September can do just that with one massive new RPG… it just may not be Starfield.

As anyone keeping track knows, Baldur’s Gate 3 will arrive on PS5 September 6, the same date Starfield releases. While not directly competing against it in terms of game type or ambition, Baldur’s Gate 3 may just outdo Starfield with regards to grandiosity; an RPG that takes Dungeons & Dragons gameplay and applies it within video gaming context.

Baldur’s Gate 3 allows players to be anyone and do anything, and is set to be truly massive. Cinematics run for nearly 170 hours and there are over 17,000 possible endings – this game rewards customisation, player choice and creative thinking every step of the way!

Baldur’s Gate 3 has also been available in Steam Early Access for approximately one year now, which has given developers and players alike an invaluable opportunity to work collaboratively toward producing a fully polished experience upon release. Anyone familiar with Larian Studios knows they don’t take anything lightly when it comes to quality productions like Baldur’s Gate 3.

Again, this game differs wildly from Starfield other than both being RPGs; specifically in their focus. Starfield emphasizes action-based combat where Baldur’s Gate 3 opts for turn based strategy encounters; yet both games look absolutely gorgeous and promise months of engagement from us all – meaning RPG enthusiasts stand a good chance of finding joy this 2023!
