Xbox Live Gold has officially marked its last days before dissipating into nothingness. A final batch of titles were unloaded before their demise into nothingness.

Microsoft recently made headlines when they announced Xbox Live Gold would close for good on September 1. Instead, Xbox Game Pass Core will replace Xbox Live Gold as an online multiplayer service and access to 25 game titles (such as Starfield). For $9.99 you’ll get online multiplayer access and day one releases like Starfield (though Xbox Live Gold remains live and has just dropped its final batch of titles). You don’t have to make this decision immediately though as Xbox Live Gold just dropped its final batch of titles as part of its final offering!

Our August drop consists of two games – Blue Fire and Inertial Drift – available between 1st August to 31st August with an estimated combined value of $39.98. Although their names might not ring a bell immediately, allow me to break them down further for you!

Graffiti Games released Blue Fire as an action-adventure platformer back in 2021 and players can “travel through the perished world of Penumbra” while encountering unique areas filled with enemies, 3D platforming challenges, quests and collectibles – not unlike Zelda-esque aesthetic. I am personally quite fond of platformers in general so am definitely keen on trying Blue Fire out sometime soon – it appears to have some challenging boss fights as well!

PQube Limited developed and published Inertial Drift back in 2020; you likely won’t be surprised to discover it’s an arcade racer set in an obscure future 90s retro world reminiscent of 90s retro pop music (I know). According to their description page on Steam Inertial Drift “provides players with an unparalleled driving experience unlike anything they have experienced before!”
