Baldur’s Gate 3 file size is massive, making pre-installation impossible.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has just confirmed an enormous file size – and you cannot pre-install the game before its release!
Larian Studios announced last month that Baldur’s Gate 3 would require 200 hours for full completion; though if players prioritize main goals more quickly they should be able to speed that timeframe up significantly. However, it’s extremely exciting that there will be such an expansive world to explore in The Witcher 3, as well as over 17,000 endings compared to The Quarry which boasted just 186 endings! It seems the hype surrounding The Witcher 3 will only increase with each passing month! Of course, those 17,000 endings won’t all differ significantly; there will likely be subtler distinctions within them. Many players are eagerly awaiting Baldur’s Gate 3 on release day; it might take us some time before we’re actually able to explore all its depths!
Larian Studios recently confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 will have a whopping file size of 122GB! Not only will that take up more space on your device storage, but you won’t even be able to pre-install it until release day – leaving players to wait patiently or not so patiently until it downloads onto their systems and installs.
PC Gamer reported on this development as well, noting the announcement was made through a community update which read, “Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch August 3, at 5pm Gent time or equivalent in your timezone as shown above. There will be no preloading before then.”
Larian also highlighted launch times for Dublin at 4PM, New York at 11am, Los Angeles at 8AM, Rio De Janeiro at 12PM, Quebec 11AM and Kuala Lumpur 11PM; Tokyo players can access their account on August 4 at 12AM; Sydney will launch at 1AM while Auckland 3AM respectively – so get set!
