PlayStation 5 price cut spurs massive increase in sales – shockingly enough!
Sales of PlayStation 5 consoles in the UK have skyrocketed due to price cuts offered at select retailers.
If you still haven’t managed to purchase your PlayStation 5, now may be a good time. Certain retailers in the UK such as Amazon and GAME offer discounted consoles and bundles at greatly reduced prices.
Sony has offered customers the latest console for as little as PS399 – with some even including Forspoken or Saints Row (2022).
Though this new price will return back to normal sometime later next month, its temporary nature has already had an effect on console sales. GfK reported that PlayStation 5 sales increased 75% year-on-year following its initial retail price of PS479.99 being reduced weekly; week-over-week sales are reported as rising 63%!
If the standard PS5 doesn’t suit you, perhaps the new special edition Spider-Man variant would appeal more. Unfortunately though, you will likely have to compete against scalpers to secure one!
