Hogwarts Legacy remains the best-selling game of 2016 despite stiff competition.
Hogwarts Legacy’s popularity since its release earlier this year remains at its height, as thousands of Harry Potter fans continue to play it across multiple platforms including Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
Players have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, with many avidly working to add their own features through mods – these range from adding simple gameplay enhancements to online multiplayer tests – or making all wands into guns – the options for adding personal flair are virtually limitless!
Over $1 billion has already been generated by the game so far, making more than any Harry Potter film combined and prompting numerous fan theories for sequels moving forward. Sales so far have been impressive but could reach new heights this year when Nintendo Switch version debuts; although development delays were experienced while creating this version it should now go smoothly until release day arrives.
Hogwarts Legacy stands as a shining testament to this success by remaining the top seller of 2018. As of right now, several AAA releases such as Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of the Kingdom, Resident Evil 4 (2023), and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have released but it appears Hogwarts Legacy remains on top with sales.
Hogwarts Legacy will still face competition later in 2019, such as Starfield, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Mortal Kombat 1. However, these titles could prove equally difficult.
It will be intriguing to observe how well this game stands up to such well-recognized releases and whether Nintendo Switch sales bolster it enough for it to remain at the top.
Hogwarts Legacy can currently be played on Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms – with Nintendo scheduled for later release this year.
