Fans of the Wizarding World simply cannot get enough, and this new announcement should please Hogwarts audiences immensely.

One of the greatest video game franchises suitable for family members of all ages to enjoy together is LEGO. No matter if it’s Star Wars, DC Comics or Indiana Jones themed, LEGO provides plenty of joyous playtime both as physical brick building or by holding onto control pads.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 was first made available across various platforms in 2010, featuring all four movies/books in the Harry Potter franchise – The Philosopher’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire.

Following that release came LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 which included The Order of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince as well as Deathly Hallows-Part 1 and 2. Subsequent years also brought forth LEGO Harry Potter Collection which brought all previously released games together into one package for easy convenience – giving fans plenty of wizarding brick-building fun already.

Inspired by LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – which provides remakes for previous games as well as its recent “sequel trilogy”, LEGO Harry Potter may follow suit and undergo similar treatment; this could indicate an open world game similar to its counterpart in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

This image features a Lego Minifigure of Harry Potter along with logos for series developer TT Games and LEGO, and displays an approximate date of 25 August 2023.

At first, my mind kept wandering back to 25 August 2023 as an expected release date; it would likely take too early a development cycle before any marketing of its release began in earnest. But with Gamescom taking place from 23 August until 27 August this month (23-25 August), this could potentially be when it will finally make an official reveal appearance!

Also in related news, LEGO announced an incredibly lovely Harry Potter set and it looks simply gorgeous! In our review of LEGO 2K Drive we raved that visual Concepts had cruised their way to victory!

At present, the original LEGO Harry Potter Collection can be found across PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms.
