Since Tears of the Kingdom’s release, Legend of Zelda fans have created numerous extraordinary items using its fuse mechanics.

As exciting as its modding scene has already proven to be, what stands out most among all of the builds created thus far by players is that most can be constructed solely using powers and objects found already within the game itself.

While some technically-savvy tinkerers may be racing their best vehicle builds around Hyrule or creating animatronics, one has decided to demonstrate just how realistic Tears of the Kingdom’s physics can be.

Have you made something which pushes Tears of the Kingdom’s physics beyond their current boundaries?
As per PaperSpock’s post about whether it would be possible to construct a tensionegrity structure within Hyrule Engineering, user IAMA_llAMA_AMA has done exactly this and posted video footage of their creation to Hyrule Engineering Subreddit.

“Both builds are independent from each other and depend on tension created from hooks pulling against one another to hold up their upper structures,” wrote one comment on their post, followed by another that read, “This build is extremely unattractive; I would much prefer an aesthetic version.”

Even with its crude design, other Zelda players who have seen my build to date appear extremely impressed, particularly given that I didn’t use strings as tension-creators (something typical of real tensegrity structures).

Unfortunately IAMA_llAMA_AMA was unable to test out standing atop the structure as suggested in one of the thread’s players’ suggestions, having unwittingly de-spawned it by accidentally reloading his save file.

“Tears of the Kingdom doesn’t always get its physics right, but when it does you can make things like this work.” said user Penguin_Joy.

Imperial_Squid was impressed with this feat: “To achieve any level of tensegrity is really impressive given how complex an interaction may be between objects interacting on different layers; [it] truly highlights just how deep our physics system probably runs beneath the hood!”
