Warzone players often debate aim assist when switching control schemes; controller users participating in Call of Duty: Battle Royale have access to aim assist as an aid against competing more directly against precise mouse aims.

Since Season 5, anti-cheat measures now use kill feed to display bans while players love taking advantage of new Operator skins available through battle pass.

After diving headfirst into some casual and competitive matches to start their year off right, several players have expressed concerns that rotational aim assist isn’t quite equivalent.

Content creator TheTacticalBrit discovered something unexpected when streaming from his gulag: an alteration in rotational aim assist behaviour.

“(I don’t know) whether this is intended or unintended, but after several metres rotational assist starts weakening.” Although no definitive decisions have yet been taken by Raven Software to adjust rotational aim assist, TheTacticalBrit believes the apparent change could provide benefits: “I want aim assist reduced; rotating assist especially, because it seems overpowered. ”

At first, TheTacticalBrit may have been alone in noting a difference; user Interesting-Swan6322 took to Reddit asking why there appears to be no rotational aim assist available within game.

One player lamented, “Am I crazy or do I suddenly lack rotational Aim Assist (AA) all at once?” Based on player comments, controller players appear to be struggling with shooting straight. One claimed: “On PS5 my aim assist has significantly declined over the years…(I) have no clue as to what has occurred!”

Season 5 patch notes contain no mention of aim assist adjustments, leading to speculation that any possible modifications were unintended and Raven Software might soon rollback the change as per what it had been in previous seasons. If that is indeed the case, they might provide information as to when this may take place and how quickly that happens.

Alternately, changes could be intentional and players must adjust to any new mechanics introduced into gameplay.
