Fans agree that Assassin’s Creed Origins side quests are some of the best ever seen in this franchise, making for compelling viewing for players looking for adventure in this latest title.
Released in 2017, Assassin’s Creed Origins transported players back in time to ancient Egypt during the end of Ptolemaic rule and explored its origins as its name implies.
Since 2007, when Assassin’s Creed first hit store shelves, its evolution has taken many unexpected forms. Once more focused on stealth, parkour and assassination – these themes still play out but now predominantly emphasize open world shenanigans with side quests and levelling up of in-depth skill trees.
Some critics of Ubisoft’s recent Assassin’s Creed games have accused them of overloading them with too many filler content; I agree. Don’t get me wrong: I really enjoy Assassin’s Creed Valhalla; however, when new quests keep popping up it feels similar to Sabrina the Teenage Witch where Melissa Joan Hart keeps getting fed cake from every side!
Yet even as much of that exists in Assassin’s Creed Origins, its complexity never felt too overwhelming, hence earning me my Platinum Trophy and cementing Origins’ place as one of the finest RPG era titles.
Fans on Reddit have been discussing Assassin’s Creed Origins and some are convinced it features some of the best side quests from its series. “I just started AC Origins today & here are my initial impressions so far!” commented Redditor kenwayfan, then added, “Tell me about your first experiences!”
LilPostPeep gave Origins five out of ten stars as an AC game: “I really enjoy Origins; it is one of my favorites! Now, playing it again on PS5, the visual and gameplay differences from when first played it on Xbox are simply remarkable compared to when first seen,” according to LilPostPeep. She added, “I really like Tombs as well as exploration aspect with animal taming capabilities being another highlight for her in Origins: she found them especially engaging! ” ”
“I believe side quests should be integrated into the main story due to how out of nowhere some characters like Tahira appear,” explained Smutty_Lemon, adding, “She can easily be skipped over without giving you any context as to who she really is without doing her sidequest.”
Assassins Creed Mirage will return the series to its stealthy roots. Mirage will be available for PC, PlayStation and Xbox on 12 October 2023.
Assassin’s Creed Origins has officially arrived for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, featuring new-gen patch support on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
