Sony may soon unveil their next-gen console in what may well be one of the worst-kept secrets ever.

Ever since Sony first unveiled their original PlayStation, Sony has produced at least one variation on a current-gen console such as slimmers or more powerful variants like PS4 Pros.

Sony has long hinted at plans to release both a PlayStation 5 Pro and Slim for this generation; though no official word from them as of yet has come our way. I do advise taking any unconfirmed rumor with a grain of salt; yet at the same time there can never be no smoke without fire!

Back in May 2023, there were reports that Sony’s PS5 Pro could cost upwards of PS700 – leaving many gamers worried. Previous rumor mill reports also predicted its launch sometime around 2024.

Due to Microsoft and FTC court battle over Activision Blizzard acquisition, Microsoft recently made public their intention for Sony to release PS5 Slim by December at an estimated price point of $300.

Well, perhaps to give some credibility to all the previous rumor mill speculations about PlayStation 5 Slim’s existence online has come the “first look”. Keep this image with an open mind as anything is possible with Photoshop nowadays.

Andrew Marmo of developer Wired Productions and media outlet VGC tweeted, “Here’s our first glimpse of PlayStation 5 (CFI-2016) “Slim”.

Now that the cat’s out of the bag, Sony could end all our suffering and officially unveil PlayStation 5 Slim within weeks.

Sony could unveil their big announcement during their next PlayStation Direct event – so keep watching this space.
