Red Dead Redemption 2: Undead Nightmare Origins is the most impressive mod we’ve seen.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most amazing games ever created I am sad in my heart that we’ve never had any single-player DLC that was officially released.
Children may doubt my assertion however, there was a time that Rockstar Games used to make the top single-player DLC available. The titles GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption had massive updates that provided new experiences and enjoyable variations on the classic games. Undead Nightmare was the best of all.
The game was first released back in 2010. Undead Nightmare was an expansion to the initial Red Dead Redemption in which John Marston suddenly found himself facing the zombies with an action-packed survival horror thriller. The game was awe-inspiring and the fans had always hoped that Red Dead Redemption 2 would certainly get similar DLC. The game never got it.
There’s a wonderful mod that will do exactly what Rockstar can’t. Dick Hertz and Eki’s Undead Nightmare 2 Origins Origins mod comes close to being the genuine thing and you’d be surprised to learn it wasn’t officially licensed. It’s even cost-free.
“A plague has struck New Austin, causing the dead to rise from their graves and wreak havoc among the already savaged lands” according to in the Nexus Mods description. “Some are despairing in the fear that the spreading can’t be stopped at this rate but others won’t be able to go down without fighting.
“The locals have set fire to the towns in attempt to kill the undead, some have taken to higher ground to protect their families, while others were left to perish in the streets. Local shop owners either fled or boarded themselves inside, to fend off against looters, who have stashed away supplies throughout the town. The law has bigger problems to worry about. New Austin has been struck the hardest, small numbers of the dead still roam the five states but the law has it mostly under control ….. for now.”
The mod overhauls completely the game by adding fresh sounds, weather effects and much more. The towns have been devastated The wilderness has become much more dangerous than it has ever been, and undead creatures swarm the landscape. Because Rockstar is clearly not planning of ever releasing an official Undead Nightmare sequel, I highly recommend checking the mod out whenever you have time.
