Fallout: Odyssey mod could well be one of the finest additions ever to Fallout in years.
Fallout fans looking for their next post-apocalypse fix might like Bethesda’s newly released game Starfield; but if that isn’t quite your cup of tea there may be other alternatives out there as well.
Fallout fans know it can be tough being patient while waiting for Fallout 5. Fallout 4 was huge and impressive, yet overemphasized its action-packed shooting sequences to the detriment of its more nuanced moral decisions that define this series.
Recently Bethesda released Starfield, which feels similar to Fallout, but unfortunately will never satisfy your thirst for exploration in space; on its own though it certainly will not fill that need; only Fallout can do that and with its arrival post The Elder Scrolls VI it leaves fans without relief until Fallout 5. But for fans eecty of course?
Fallout 76 may offer more action and adventure, but for a true single player adventure it would be wise to seek out modders worldwide.
Webb Productions Entertainment has developed an amazing total conversion mod for Fallout: New Vegas entitled Fallout: The Odyssey, using Unreal Engine 5 to make their trailer/short film that promotes it – something it certainly achieves successfully. The film serves its intended purpose of raising interest for this mod as it brings viewers right inside.
Note that while this short film uses Unreal Engine 5, its mod makes use of New Vegas and therefore will more closely resemble New Vegas than an Unreal Engine 5 project.
Just to set expectations accordingly. Fallout: The Odyssey takes place in Alaska during 2297 where reformed Enclave plans ‘what could possibly become humankind’s most ambitious event since world war’; players enter as wandering players swept up into one last stand against Brotherhood of Steel forces.
According to the official account: “You will decide on this outcome whether it be successful for one side and failed altogether for the other.
