After being discovered and uploaded in the Starfield subreddit on Reddit by HunterWorld, a user of the subreddit. HunterWorld The game comes with an obituary paying an ode for Alex Hay, a Starfield fan who was diagnosed with lung cancer in the spring of this year.

In March, prior to his passing, Hay authored a article on the subreddit for the game where he criticized the possibility that, if the game’s release having been delayed between late 2022 and September 2023. He probably would not live to be able to play the game.

The article prompted to the Starfield Reddit group to come together to Hay Many of them pleading to Bethesda to take action in his honor and vowing to honour him in their own way in the form of, say having their game ships named to Hay.

Some of the replies by HunterWorld’s community members on the posting have had fans reflecting how happy they are that Bethesda took time to pay homage to Hay.

“I’m very happy to be in the Starfield with you. Go high Alex,” said user Spikenthropegg. Dominunce said: “This is the only aspect I’m glad about having been treated to, so RIP Alex Hay and we’ll take you through the Starfield together with everyone else.”
