A lot of games are able to slip off the radar. This is definitely the case with Bright Memory which was released back in the year 2020, to a low reception. Since then, the Steam community has embraced the game and has praised the game in a variety of areas.

Based on the trailer posted on the Steam site It’s clear that this game is the bizarre baby from Halo and Tomb Raider in its “lightning-fast fusion of the FPS and action genres, created by one-man development studio FYQD using Unreal Engine”

The players are able to “Combine a wide variety of skills and abilities to unleash dazzling combo attacks” and play through a vast narrative which “depicts the maiden adventure of a woman named Shelia in the year 2020.” Although the game doesn’t seem to be too long, it’s still an excellent showcase of what one-person teams could accomplish using Unreal Engine. It’s also worth noting that there are many users who are pleased with the game however some are of the opinion that it’s just an unfinished demo, with one player commenting “It’s criminal how short this game is cause I would have loved to play for hours and hours.”

There are several positives that will convince you to play the game for a low cost, “Graphics are amazing” as well as another that says “very fun to play.” We’ve found it to be stunning as a sci-fi shooter which includes some moments of parkour. Additionally, that the gameplay is very satisfying “Combat is great, you can mix up guns/swords/skills effortlessly to make combos and satisfyingly murder all the enemies.”

Another Steam player describes Bright Memory as an “indie DOOM” that can certainly be interpreted as an endorsement. Why would anyone want to see their game included with some of the greatest shooters of all time? If you’re looking for a quick experience It’s worth giving the game a shot.
