Gamers agree it’s never too late to begin enjoying video gaming.

No one should tell you otherwise! Playing video games is never too late in life! On the flipside, however, some may consider you too young – such as toddlers playing Grand Theft Auto or Mortal Kombat! So take it easy on yourself and stick with Bluey and Pepper Pig as your gaming partners instead!

I am fortunate enough to have seen multiple generations of video game consoles come and go. For instance, I remember the scratchy tapes of Spectrum 128k and Amiga 1200 that would often crash at 90% loading and force us all back through hellish gaming sessions all over again – you know who you are if you ever experienced those miseries yourself! If anyone remembers those days… well… they certainly make for some memorable times…

No doubt I won’t ever stop enjoying video gaming and I believe my physical limitations will dictate when to stop. Even now I still find time for both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, including family life and work obligations, to enjoy hours upon hours on each. Immersion into video game world may no longer be quite so effective in terms of skill but can still offer hours of enjoyment – I own 12-year old son beat me regularly when it comes to multiplayer shooters but can still hold my own! Ultimately though the goal should always remain fun; that is what playing video games is all about!

Under such considerations, a 41-year-old Reddit user questioned if it were too old for them to play video games – the short answer being no – this Reddit thread quickly responded in support of this enthusiast gaming player’s statement.

“I am 41-years-old. For my birthday, my wife gifted me with a PlayStation 5, which has left me playing four video games: MLB The Show, Call of Duty and UFC5. All three games have left me unsatisfied: AI pitched me an no-hitter today on Rookie difficulty; my 2-for 27 campaign with Call of Duty led to three consecutive losses on Easy mode; while UFC5 Career Mode defeated me three consecutive times during Easy fight mode on Easy difficulty; this experience has been so discouraging,” revealed Nmofpuppets21 in an emotional update posted online by Nmofpuppets21 himself on February 14.

“Thanks for reading. It seems I’ve hit an impasse with some of the games I used to find enjoyable; now they seem unplayable for me. If anyone has any advice – for instance a different controller, settings change, game – I welcome any input,” continued he.

“Try out some open-world games with decreasing difficulties until you become the master! Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are great titles that look incredible on PS5” suggested an inspiring bechimo. Additionally, bechimo noted how she bought her PS5 specifically so they can enjoy Horizon Forbidden West at age 66; never give up, never surrender.

“At 52, single player open world games that feature immersive environments with excellent storytelling have kept me playing for most of the past seven years – especially The Last of Us series!” commented Several-Archer4786.

Oldefinger said they enjoy GTA Online as well, where they spend 20-30 minutes at night driving and parachuting from end-to-end avoiding other players while having fun avoiding obstacles on the map. Oldefinger is also fond of using Rockstar Editor a lot – making mini movies is her passion!

If Nmofpuppets21 is reading this, keep going. Sometimes it takes some time for your reflexes to improve when playing Call of Duty online or single player stories like single life stories on PS5, however there may be controllers like SCUF Reflex and Nacon Pro controllers available that might assist; although not guaranteeing drastic improvement but they at least help some.

Reddit user bechimo puts it well: Never give up, never surrender! You got this!
