Console exclusivity often leads to envy unless all available console options are your own, which explains why Xbox fans eagerly anticipate Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 or PlayStation fans need Starfield as soon as possible.

The Elder Scrolls VI will soon arrive and due to Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda parent ZeniMax, many assumed that it would also be exclusive for Xbox. Recently though, Bethesda chief Todd Howard stated it might even be his last title given how long Bethesda takes in developing titles combined with post launch support – hinting that maybe The Elder Scrolls VI won’t even be Xbox-exclusive after all!

Microsoft and the United States Federal Trade Commission recently filed for temporary restraining order and injunction in an attempt to block their $68.7 billion acquisition deal for Activision, including details from Xbox, Bethesda and PlayStation relating to Xbox, Bethesda and even PlayStation releases plans. One instance reported by Push Square involved Xbox boss Phil Spencer answering lawyers questions regarding The Elder Scrolls VI release plans.

Prior to its trial, The Elder Scrolls VI had been reported as only being available on Xbox and PC platforms, however Spencer responded during this week that its future platforms can’t be determined yet because we are talking about an impending game five-plus years away.” Although Spencer didn’t confirm The Elder Scrolls VI coming out for PlayStation, his statements indicated otherwise – they even failed to outright dismiss this possibility!

Spencer will likely seek to make cross-platform releases look attractive so as to gain regulatory support for Activision deal, so this issue needs close monitoring. We will keep an eye out.
