Dark Souls: Archthrone is currently under development with an anticipated demo release this September.

Dark Souls: Archthrone is an expansion mod for Dark Souls 3 that allows players to embark on an entirely new journey, exploring areas from its rich lore that they never had the chance to see before, meeting allies they never expected, and taking part in some exciting boss fights along the way.

Five worlds will be available within this mod, all accessible from its hub-area called Nexus of Embers; Lothric (an area from Dark Souls 3) being one of them.

Twitter teased fans about an exciting mod coming soon – creating much anticipation among gamers worldwide! A glimpse at its progress was shared as part of that teaser announcement.

“Can I really believe what I am hearing… The one aspect I wanted expanded upon in Dark Souls has now been completely filled out? Wow… My excitement for playing it will only increase further…”

“This looks absolutely incredible. Can’t wait to give this a go”

“Carthus was always something I wished DLC did”, wrote one user.

The development team behind Dark Souls: Prequel intends for it to provide players with an unforgettable Dark Souls experience, including many popular elements found within the series’ other installments. Players will encounter new enemies, side quests and plenty of hidden secrets when venturing forth to explore.

Reports indicate it will draw inspiration from Demon Souls by including some elements such as soul forms and world tendencies, which determine how difficult or easy each game becomes after repeated deaths.

Overall it seems likely to provide an intense and soul-crushing experience – something the Soulsborne series excels in offering its players. A free demo for this mod should launch this September so fans can sample what to expect before its full-game launch later.

Dark Souls 3 was actually the final game in this franchise when released in 2016. Since then, FromSoftware has ventured into new IPs like Elden Ring as well as completely original titles like Armoured Core VI; whether or not FromSoftware plans to revisit Dark Souls is unknown but given its immense fan base it seems likely we may see something along those lines such as Dark Souls 4 or even reboots in some capacity down the road.

However, Soulsborne lives on with Elden Ring which will receive a major DLC expansion sometime within 2019.
