The Last of Us wasn’t the world’s first narrative-driven zombie game and probably won’t be its last either, yet one newly released on Nintendo Switch seems strikingly similar to Naughty Dog’s iconic title to simply dismiss as pure coincidence.

Behold The Last Hope: Dead Zone Survival, an “intense storyline game set in an apocalyptic world overrun with ravenous zombies”. This action game promises “captivating plot” and “immersive graphics”, yet I find this title too similar to The Last of Us with shorter haird Joel than usual.

Though that statement may come across as harsh, The Last of Us Part I’s Ellie shares many characteristics with your “ultimate goal,” including hairstyle and outfit similarity – with both appearing as striking images on its cover art.

“As you navigate the treacherous city streets, you will come upon various locations that hold key to your survival,” according to its synopsis. These could range from libraries (to save innocent girls from zombies), pharmacies for vital medical supplies and the police station arming yourself with powerful weaponry or exploring metro tunnels where horrific horrors await), police stations as armoring stations or even police station armoury and weaponry to even police stations where dangerous threats lurk – each location presents its own set of challenges that bring you one step closer towards your ultimate goal: leaving this city on board ship for safer haven as each life matters when only The Last Hope remains.”

Though its plot may differ somewhat, similarities cannot be denied. Nintendo Switch users can get The Last Hope: Dead Zone Survival for only 99p per copy but I think I will stick to Naughty Dog games instead.
