Xbox’s Blade game will not be available before 2027 at the latest.
Although PlayStation gamers can play 3 Spider-Man titles, Xbox gamers still have many years before Marvel’s Blade is released for Series S, Series X, and PC.
In development currently At Arkane Lyon, the team responsible for Dishonored as well as Deathloop, Marvel’s Blade, has been for more than two years now. The game’s launch is still four years off as of the latest.
Giant Bomb member and renowned Xbox leaker Jeff Grubb claimed on the latest podcast of XboxEra that Arkane’s Blade RPG won’t be released until 2027. In addition, it’s an early version of the internal targets for the upcoming superhero title, which means we may have to wait until 2028 before we can play the game.
“Right now, internally, they are expecting that to be sold on store shelves and digitally in 2027,” Grubb explained. “That is the year that they are aiming for that game.”
The Xbox Series X, already three years older than Arkane’s Blade game, might release very late in the series and possibly even before the launch of the next. It’s not new for Xbox, especially for the current generation.
For example, Microsoft famously announced the possibility of a new version of Perfect Dark Back during The Game Awards 2020. But the announcement was a CGI unveiling of the game. Developer: The Initiative hired developers for the game.
In essence, the early trailers for games nearly a century away serve as an attempt to recruit fresh developers to become part of the team. Given this, there’s no reason to be surprised that Blade is just four years away from being released.
Marvel’s Blade is among the most thrilling new releases available to Xbox gamers. Although it might not be as popular with most players as Spider-Man has been, the history of Arkane Lyon is what makes Blade a fascinating possibility for Xbox players.
Further Xbox exclusives are still years off, including The Elder Scrolls VI. But, with an Xbox Game Pass service promoting lesser-known games such as Hi-Fi Rush, the platform may be able to thrive on more miniature games as we wait for years between major releases.
